Frequently Asking Questions

What exactly is Workflow Automation in layman's terms?
To put it simply, if there is a task or procedure that traditionally was required a repetitive course of action, this process is now automated through spreadsheet software using formulas that range from simple to complicated depending on the scope of the project. For example:
• You have a system that requires you to repeatedly copy and paste information from one sheet to another
• You use a spreadsheet but manually calculate totals and would like to have the values appear on another sheet
• You have a bunch of customers stored in a database or spreadsheet, but don't market to them
• You want to market to potential clients but haven't saved their contact details or know how to
I have a new business I am launching, but don't know where to start.
It is a fairly simple process, but requires a lot of setup and maintenance with a number of moving parts so to speak. A basic startup plan would look something like this:

Provided by client:
• Business Plan
• Design style preferences
• Company Name
• Website Copy (Content)
• Marketing Copy
• Competitive research

Deliverables by TLWC:
• Company Logo
• Domain Name
• Website
• Hosting for website
• An email address @yourdomain
• Business Cards
• Marketing Materials (As needed)
• Sales & Invoicing System

Why do I need a graphic designer?
If your goal is to simply create and print your own material from your desktop printer for personal use such as greeting cards, flyers, or craft projects using desktop publishing software then chances are you will not need a graphic designer.

What a graphic designer will bring to your process is an in-depth knowledge of graphic design and the elements and principles of graphic design, as well as the software skills required to use desktop publishing and image programs. A graphic designer will also be conversant in the process of preparing files for use by others - be they printers or online Web hosting providers, ensuring the trouble-free output of your finished communication piece.

Is the artwork created by TLWC my property after I have paid for it?
The actual artwork files unless explicitly agreed upon in writing by the client before hand remain the property of TLWC. However, ALL approved web images and high resolution images (including EPS vector files) purchased are 100% yours once the project is fully complete and paid for. It should also be noted that upon commencement of the project all artwork created by TLWC is expressly given implied consent and may be used as work samples.
How much do you charge to build a website? Do you offer hosting too?
To develop a templated website on the WordPress platform, the basic rate is $1000 which is far below the industry standard. The reason is because all websites developed by TLWC would need to be hosted by TLWC at a monthly rate of $30/month for a minimum term of no less than 3 years. Alternatively we can develop a site at the industry standard rate of $2000 if you do not wish to host with us.
How long will it take to build a website?
On average, we aim for a two to three week turnaround once we have everything we need, but the pace of any project is set by each client. How much input you can provide during the initial stages, your availability with feedback – all this affects the speed of completion. The functionality needs may also play a role – more complex sites will take more time to develop. But this number is based on a standard site.
Do you use WordPress to develop your sites and why?
Yes. WordPress is a fantastic content management system that now powers more than 37% of the websites on the internet. By using this platform we empower the client to make changes to their website on the fly at their leisure. But, we also provide full training to ensure the success of the investment.
